Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well but for now please look for dogs on your coast. For your convenience we also have PAID TRANSPORT companies that are available for a fee to get "your" new addition to your area on a guaranteed date. Thank you for your interest in a rescue!

Blue is a unique looking, very handsome young man. He is approximately 4 years old and weighs 14 lbs. Blues is brown with a black colored stripe down his back, he has brown and tan markings also, as I mentioned his coloring is very unique!
Blue is doing very good with his housetraining when kept on a regular schedule, a doggy door would be great and a fenced yard highly recommended. Blue loves sleeping in the big bed and can typically be found under the blankets at the foot of the bed. He will also sleep in his kennel at night snuggled in his dreamsack.
Blue gets along with all the animals in his foster home which include, male and female, Rottweilers, Dachshunds and Cats. Blue would do best in a home with adults, or children over 12, he seems to have a fear of children and even though he does fine with foster mom's granddaughters, she still recommends he not go to a home with small children unless they are experienced with small dogs/dachshunds.
Blue is such a great little dog! He loves his foster mom and she simply adores him but what Blue really wants is a family of his own. This family should have some experience with dachshunds so he knows he has a leader to look up to.
If you have any questions about Blue please email his foster mom, she would be happy to answer any questions you have!
