BIO (10/17/2016):
Hi my name is Dukie and I am staying in Sewell, NJ till I can find my perfect new mommy and daddy. My former mommy had to go into a nursing home and couldn't take me with her so her niece came over to the house to feed me and put me out. I was so lonely all by myself so the niece contacted AADR. The good people at AADR vetted me and sent me to my foster mommy and daddy. Now I am patiently waiting for my forever home!
Foster mommy says I'm a good boy. I get along with my foster brothers and sisters but I would really like a home that is a little quieter. Maybe with just one doggie brother or sister to play with. I love to run in the big back yard and even though I am a dachshund, I actually listen when I am called. I would really like a mommy and daddy that are already settled and will spend time with me. I like to go for walks and carry my toys around with me. I'm ready to curl up on the couch around 8 and sleep till it's bedtime. Then it's time to curl up in the big bed with my foster family.
I hope someone sees this bio soon because I really, really want a loving home where I can spend the rest of my life! If you’re interested in a happy little boy, please email my foster mommy, Judy, at rnjpeace@verizon.net and she will tell you all about me.
More about Dukie......MD
Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
