BIO:   Hi, my name is Noel!  Mom, me, and my siblings were out in the cold, literally, and a Good Samaritan contacted another rescue to take us.  They were full so they asked if this rescue would take us.  How could they say "no" to this face?  Mom is a standard dachshund and dad, well he didn’t stick around for mom to find out anything about him.  Most of my littermates have already been adopted, my foster mom thinks it’ll be my turn soon!

I’m doing really well with puppy pad training and I don’t mind sleeping in a crate with the door open!  I really want a home with a fenced yard, someone home most of the time to potty train me, and no children under 6 years old.  Oh, and I want another dog to play with, or a kitty.  I love following my foster brother around, but sometimes I have to beg him to play with me!  They have to be young 'cause I play till I drop.  I AM a puppy after all.

I am cuddly and energetic and I can’t wait to go to my forever home to settle in and work on my house training!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
