BIO:

Lincoln came to us from NC after his owner died and there was no family to take him.  We noticed he had a wobble walk and after x-rays, we discovered he had a narrowing of the spinal column in his lower back.  This is making his back end weaker therefore he wobble-walks, but that does not stop him from getting around or running faster than the wind.  He does have just a bit of incontinence some days but can hold it all night and go out in the morning and do his business, so he is mostly house broken.

With all that being said, Lincoln is a great dog.  He loves to sit in your lap at night or whenever you sit down and he’ll cover himself up with a blanket no matter if it’s on the couch or in a doggie bed.  He loves attention but will share that attention with other dogs and does well with all.  NO cats.  He doesn’t like those little creatures and feels they should be banished from the earth.

Lincoln can be so fast that if you don’t watch going out of your house or gate, he’ll escape and be gone like the wind.  Foster mom and dad have already chased him around the neighborhood so caution would need to be used around open doors.

If you are looking for a friend that will follow you everywhere and go everywhere with you, then look no further, Lincoln is your man!!

Please help him find his last forever home to live out his life!

More about Lincoln in TN

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
