Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well but for now please look for dogs on your coast.
For your convenience we also have PAID TRANSPORT companies that are available for a fee to get "your" new addition to your area on a guaranteed date.
Thank you for your interest in a rescue!

Meet Tootsie….Tootsie was adopted out but then returned to us after only 7 months. It seems she snapped at her adopters.  We were not told the entire story so we are not sure what really happened but when she was returned she was very fearful and would snap at us. After a short 3 month period she is back to her loving self. She is very loving now towards her foster parents and all her foster brothers & sisters.  Tootsie loves to sleep in the big bed with her humans. She would also be great friend to another doxie that needs the companionship as she loves to play.

We have learned that she doesn’t care for crates. This could stem from being crated too much. She will go into a crate for us to eat her dinner and she will “kennel up” for a short period of time while we run errands but she gets very anxious if she is left in the crate for too long.

All this being said we think Tootsie would excel in a dachshund savvy home, with no small children, and someone that is home most of the day or that can come home to let her out frequently. If you think you would make the perfect home for Tootsie please fill out an adoption application.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.  Please note, if this animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization please contact that organization for details about adoption areas and transportation options.
