BIO: They don't come any sweeter than this boy!!!

What can we say about Hatter other than he is about the sweetest boy we have had the pleasure of fostering. He loves attention and doesn’t mind sharing as long as you let him know he must. He really would do better with another dog that likes to play.

He is housebroken but will have accidents if you aren’t in tune to his signals that he has to go outside. With a doggie door he has no problem what so ever.

Hatter does have a bit of a problem with submissive urination only because the previous owner would yell at him, so please, don’t raise your voice to sweet Hatter.

Hatter loves to go for walks and is fine with strangers if introduced properly.

Please, consider Hatter for your next family member, he’s waiting just for YOU.

More about Hatter...NJ

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
