BIO:

Millie Jane came from southern MS after the owner moved out of her home and could not take MJ with her. She was afraid to leave MJ with her ex-husband for fear he would harm her so Millie Jane came to TN to be vetted and find her forever home. When she was transported up to TN it was discovered she had a damaged eye that would require it to be removed but MJ didn’t mind all she cares about is her doggie bed and her 2 squares a day. She’s a very laid back little girl, not an attention hog and is happy to just lay in her doggie bed while you watch TV or read. She’d be great as an only dog or with another dog to keep each other company. We don’t crate her while we are gone because she’s fine out of a crate but again she would need to be kept on a schedule with potty breaks.  If you are a retired person looking for a low key girl then look no further MJ is your girl. E-mail her foster mom for more details about this little beauty.

More about Millie Jane...SC

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
