BIO:

It took a village but rescue got her saved. She was posted on Facebook having been dumped in a very rural shelter in AL. With the help of a lot of like- minded people she was gotten out, transported up to TN so she could begin the road to being a pet instead of a breeding machine.

Because of her poor dental care for the first 7 yrs of her life she lost a lot of teeth and has to be fed softened food but don’t let that scare you or stop you from adopting sweet Minnie.  She quickly learned to appreciate the love, good food and wonderful pet beds all over the house of the foster mom and dad.

Minnie does well on a leash but also loves to wander/run out in the fenced in yard. So our wish for Minnie is to find a home that will continue to care for her, love her and give her a fenced in yard and another buddy(male or female, she doesn’t care) to buddy up with and keep her company on the days you are away from home.

Please give Minnie a chance!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
