2009 Foster Santa Program

Make a Needy Dachshund's Holiday Special - Be Their Santa!

As many of you know, many of the dachshunds that are being fostered with AADR have never had a loving family to make their holiday season special. Others have been given up by families and this is their first year away from them. Please consider helping them along in their journey by taking care of some of their needs or wants this year.

You can answer one of our Dachshunds Letters to Santa in the following way:

1. Purchase an item off a national pet provider website (petsmart, petco, etc.) and have it shipped to the needy doxie for Christmas morning.
2. Donate and specify what gift you would like to provide.

Our Dachshunds are currently asking for the following Christmas gifts

Any Amount: Gift Cards to Petsmart or Petco.

 Under $10

We thank you for your continued support over the past year. We could not have done it without you!

Here are some of our Special Need Cases who have asked for the above items in addition to having extensive medical care.

 Snoopy

Being Fostered in CA

Snoopy has had a sad couple of months. First he was given up by his family and now he is dealing with constantly having to fight to stay healthy. Snoopy is such a sweetheart and never complains but his medical bills have been never-ending. Please click HERE to donate to help Snoopy regain his health for the new year!

Skye

Being fostered in SC

Skye just turned 2 years old and came from a breeder in SC. Because she was never given routine medical care, by the time she came to AADR, she needed all of her shots, needed to be spayed, had severe ear infections and was losing fur due to flea allergies. Finally, when things were finally looking up for Skye, she became very ill. She had to be taken into the hospital overnight to prevent her condition from becoming worse. She is now doing better but Skye's medical bills have cost over $700 total as of December 5 and she is still not completely healed. Click HERE to donate and help Skye get home for the holidays.

Desi

Being Fostered in TN

Desi is 5 years old and came from a breeder and when it was found out that he was heartworm positive, he was dumped at a shelter without a second glance. He is now going through the long and painful process of heartworm treatment. This treatment can range anywhere from the low to high hundreds not to mention the other vet care he needed. Please DONATE to help Desi finally be healthy.

Harley

Being fostered in SC

Harley is 6 years old and had a horrible life before AADR.  He lived in a nasty trailer park where his owner barely took time for him ... leaving him a week at a time to fend for himself.  When Harley came to me he had not been neutered, had a huge hernia and was heartworm positive.  Harley has endured the heartworm treatment and his last issue is a dental which will be completed prior to adoption. Most recently, his coughing has gotten worse and has even caused bleeding. It seems that Harley has had set back after set back. Please DONATE towards Harley's cause.

Eli

Being fostered in NC

Eli is 2 years old and came from the same breeder as Skye and unfortanately tested positive for heart worms. He is now finally learning what a real home is and is enduring his heart worm treatment. He has also be neutered and vaccinated while in AADR's care. Please DONATE to help with Eli's ongoing medical needs.

Jackson

Being fostered in VA

Jackson is a special boy not only because he is very sweet and loving but also because he is blind. Here is a note from his foster mom: "I don't know for sure what this boy dealt with prior to being rescued but it must have been terrible. His body and face are covered in scars, the tip of one ear is missing and the tip of his tail is twice broken. Regardless of his past, Jackson is easily the most affectionate dachshund I have had the pleasure of fostering!" Please DONATE to help Jackson or consider giving him some special gifts this holiday season!

 Hercules

Being fostered in FL

Hercules is 4 years old and came from a breeder in SC and had never been vaccinated before. When he was finally brought into rescue and vaccinated, it was found that he has a severe allergy to vaccines and it took extensive treatment to treat him. Hercules is still fighting for his life and will need continued medical care. Please DONATE for Hercules.
