Trent Ready RIP 2023
Sweet, handsome Trenton received his wings on Tuesday 9/5/2030. He was special to say the least: Cute, smart, comical and loving. He fought the good fight but it was time for his suffering to end.

Oscar MW RIP 09/03/2023
Gulf of Mexico is where our precious baby spent his last seven years with us. We adopted him when we lived in the mountains of North Carolina and he lived there for many years with us. Then we bought a condo on the Gulf and made that are permanent home. Our precious Oscar went from being born in a meth house to living his last year’s in paradise. He loved to lay out in the sun on the deck with his brother and sister. He has been such a wonderful companion. He liked it when I sang him the Oscar Meyer Wiener dog song you probably have to hear it to understand! It is the song that I sang to him all the way back from Tennessee to North Carolina when we adopted him. We also called him Casanova eyes because he had these beautiful brown piercing eyes. That would just melt you. As a matter of fact, when I was on the website, I actually was looking at another dog, and I saw him in the background and I swear to this day he was looking into my very soul. And thanks to everyone who played such an Intercal part in us being able to adopt Oscar. He was as perfect as a baby can be. I called them all my babies. We don’t use the word dog in this family they are our babies. He absolutely loved his squeaky toys until he lost all of his teeth and he could no longer chew them so I think right now he is in heaven with the biggest squeaky toy that you could possibly imagine . He is in heaven with more of our babies. I have been involved in dachshund rescue literally for as long as I can remember. Oscar was one of the sweetest babies in the world. He will be missed more than I can possibly say. I encourage anyone and everyone that might be thinking about adoption. Don’t think about it just do it! Your life will be so much richer and happier if you would just adopt one of these beautiful dogs. They know what you do for them they truly understand, going from unimaginable horrors to the love and comfort of a forever home. Please adopt you will never be sorry!

Roxie RIP
An Ode to My Queen Roxie, my third little redheaded girl joined the pack on December 16, 2018. She had lovingly been fostered in Buffalo New York. Prior to her transport. I’ve received pictures of her beautiful profile and was made aware of her habit of hoarding shoes. She didn’t chew the shoes she just inhaled their wonderful aroma and kept them safe until you needed them again She quickly set herself up as the queen of the household guarding my shoes, keeping my seatwarm, and warning, the other members of the dachshund kingdom to keep their distance. My queen would warm my lap through many many hours of reading. She became quite the connoisseur of coffee. She preferred lukewarm and cream, please. Roxie flew to Florida with me in 2021 for my 65th birthday and made several new friends. RIP Roxie 4.6.08 - 8.26.23

Stubby Cooper, RIP 2023
Stubby Cooper Sweet. Sassy. Precious. Best Friend: 2006 – July 12, 2023. Stubby was the beloved Dachshund of the Cooper family for over 17 years. Stubby provided playful companionship and fun frolicking for the whole family. Stubby was courageous to brave the harsh winters of the Northeast and enjoyed fun time outside during warm weather. Stubby was a sweet, patient, funny furry family member to the Cooper family, and they will miss him greatly. The Cooper family honors and thanks Stubby for his 17 years of love, cuddles, laughs, and companionship. Stubby’s survived by Shawn, Mary, Madison and Josh – who will miss Stubby beyond words. We love and miss you, sweet Stubby.

Mr. Skittles RIP
Mr. Skittles joined our family in 2012 at the age of 5. Throughout the past 11 years he’s lived in various houses and cities in Connecticut, Northern and Southern California and Canada. He had a heart of gold. He was gentle and extremely loving. He was with us from before we even had children and my 2 kids now ages 7 and 9 were there in his last moments. He was also so patient and loving with them too. If it hadn’t been for rescues like AADR his life might have ended at age 4 instead of 16.5. He really was the best dog and will be forever missed by my whole family. Thank you for giving us the chance to love these precious dogs who always give more than they get. ❤️
