Happy Tales
Every one of these dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Terri...IN

Terri, now Kori, is doing GREAT!!! It's been just over 8 weeks since I got her and her foster sister Daffy (now Gia). Both girls adjusted quickly to their new home and big brother Rocko. Kori started obedience class 3 weeks ago and is making great progress. After she completes some obedience, she will join her brother in agility class, where I know she will excel!!!!! I could go on and on forever talking about her and will definitely send you lots of pictures. She is a very good girl and loves for me to hold her. She is VERY attached to me and that's OK, because I want her to feel safe, and I know she does :) Emily

Tachoa...TN
Tachoa...TN

Tachoa is doing great! She has adapted to Chuy--my other adopted dachshund--and me so easily. She is very sweet, very affectionate, loves to snuggle, and asks for kisses--which she immediately receives. Tachoa and Chuy follow me every step I take. She loves her toys and our walks. My neighbors all love her. She definitely has her true forever home. Nothing could induce me to let her go. I don't know why her previous mom gave Tachoa up, but I can't help being glad she did. I do have some pictures on my phone which I'll try to get onto my computer within the next few days and send to you. Wilma

Tanner #3...NJ
Tanner #3...NJ

Tanner (now called Danny) is doing great. I did send his foster mom a few emails when I first adopted him. He is sweet, playful, and lovable. He gets along well with my cats. And he loves to sleep in the big bed. He keeps getting closer and closer to me to the point where I get out of bed and sleep on the other side. He really is a great little boy. I don't want to compare him to my last AADR dachshund, who was the best dog ever. I'll try to get pics and send them along.

Toby #6 in TN

We recently got this photo of our man Toby#6! Toby slipped his leash upon arrival at his forever home. Through diligence and a trap, he was recovered after a few days of running free. Looks like he won't be running anymore! Our little guy is rocking the Doxie sheets and looks like he is enjoying his new home! Apparently, he is quite the snugglebug now.

Tomas...OH

We changed his name to Gus but he's doing great. He and Darcy are play buddies and my 2 seniors try to stay as far away as possible. Both Gus and Darcy have brought much joy and excitement to our lives. Especially since I have become very ill w Chronic Pancreatitis and will also be having surgery to repair 2 brain aneurysms in Feb. Sometimes it's tough w 4 dogs, but I used to have 7. I will included a pic of Gus, Darcy is camera shy, she just spends her day trying to find a way to eat our guinea pig Eli.
