BIO

What a guy, not only does he have good looks but he’s smart too!! Indigo, came from a kill shelter in AR where his fate would not have been good if not for AADR and the person that pulled him. We are so glad we did! He’s very friendly and would do well in an active family. He loves to play with other dogs and he sure wants to lay in your lap when you are watching TV or reading. You’ll have your very own lap warmer. He gets along great with the other foster dogs but we think he’d be fine by himself too as long as you spent some time playing with him.

Indigo would definitely need a fenced in yard or someone that could take him to the doggie park to play with the other doggies and for the exercise.

Please consider giving this boy his last forever home. You won’t regret it!

More about Indigo...VA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
