BIO: Nolan came from a kill shelter in rural AR where most dogs don’t even get a chance to be adopted so they reach out to rescue to help find homes for the homeless. AADR agreed to take him and we aren’t sorry we did. He did have a case of Demodex Mange(non-contagious) probably from his mom but we are treating him and almost done with his medicine. With all that being said Nolan is a sweet sweet boy that loves to play with other young dogs and toys. He’d be great in a home with older kids, another dog to play with but OH MY he does love to cuddle. If you are looking for a doggie that will play with you during the day and cuddle at night, look no further, he’s the boy for you. He uses the doggie door and with some scheduling he’d learn to go out either with your other dog or on a schedule. We think he’s a great boy and our wish for him is a fenced in yard with another dog and a kid or two to play with.

Please don’t pass up this boy, he’s really looking for his forever home where he won’t end up in a shelter ever again.

He says “Don’t worry, be happy”!

=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Nolan...AR

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
