BIO:

Ava will come into your home likes she’s always lived there…flirting around like a little butterfly. She doesn’t know a stranger and loves to sit with you on your down time or help you in the garden if that’s what your plans are.

Ava does need another playful dog to play and snuggle with when you can’t be around. Male or female, it doesn’t matter. Don’t let her size scare you she’s a little spit fire but the sweatiest little girl.

She is working hard on house training but will need to be consistent with her training and rewards for doing her business outside.

Her beauty won’t make her last long but she’s also beautiful inside too so don’t hesitate if you do some other lucky person will have their application in before you and you’ll lose out. Remember her only flaw is continued housebreak in a positive way.

More about Ava....MI

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
