BIO:  Here are some of the things that would make a perfect home for Noah:

  • A single woman that works from home or mostly from home
  • Someone that has another dachshund or small dog for Noah to play and cuddle with
  • Securely fenced back yard
  • No children under 10 years

Sweet little Noah came to our rescue from North Carolina.  He had not had a real opportunity to learn to be a dog, play with other dogs, walk on a leash, or be socialized with people.  That is all behind him now!  He has come so very far in his foster home where there are four other dachshunds, both male and female.  Noah gets along great with all of them.  He's a great leash walker and really loves his walks.  As far as potty training, as long as he is taken out on a regular schedule (every 2 to 3 hours), he does not have accidents in the house.

Noah is the softest, sweetest, most gentle soul a dog momma could ever ask for.  He loves to be held and sleep in the big bed with you.  I put him to bed right by my side at night and he never moves or makes a peep all night.

Noah does not mind going in his crate when you are away, especially if he is in there with another dog to cuddle up next to.  It's not necessary to crate him, but he's fine if you do.

Noah has the most beautiful soft coat.  His thick fur feels like a little lamb it is so soft!  He will have beautiful long cream hair once it completely grows back out.

Dental care wasn’t a top priority for Noah before he came to rescue and unfortunately he lost all of his teeth when he had his dental.  But on the positive side, that means no expensive teeth cleanings!  I'm excited to report that he has healed perfectly from his dental work!  Other than having no teeth, he is a healthy little boy.  Of course, Noah will need canned or softened food for the rest of his life, and no hard chew toys.

Noah is ready and deserves to find a forever home that will love and care for him until his last breath.  Are you that perfect person for Noah?  If so, please complete the online application.

=============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI, NH, ME or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
