BIO: Morris is a precious Chiweenie who came to AADR with another dachshund mix as an owner surrender. Morris had heart worms and bad teeth. He had several teeth pulled and now is heart worm negative! Sadly, his buddy that came in with him had serious health issues and passed away. Morris is now with his foster mom and has new foster brothers and a sister. He doesn't play with them yet, but will sit next to them and even give them kisses. Morris is a super chill boy. He doesn't bark or ever get overly excited. Nail clipping is a breeze with this sweetie. He likes to hold a toy (or sock) in his mouth of next to him. He loves his crate and sleeps all night in it. His foster mommy takes him outside often and he is already doing great at potty training. Morris just wants to be next to owner and lay around or in their arms. He is just a wonderful loving dog and anyone would be lucky to have such a laid back boy!

Good with Dogs
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
