BIO:  Bunny seems to have been passed around a lot in her short 3 years. A man got her from some lady and then he said she was killing his chickens so he put her on Craigs List.  I would say poor Bunny (because everyone deserves to be loved) but it was Bunny’s lucky day!  AADR took her and got her fully vetted and she now has a new lease on life.

Bunny is a very sweet but head strong girl who knows what she wants, and what she wants is to be the top dog.  She would be great as an only dog or with a male, and would even be ok in a home with another female as long as mom and/or dad know how to be the pack leader.  Bunny loves to follow her foster mom and dad around and she gets really excited when it’s time to go for a walk.  She sees that leash and she hops around in anticipation! She gets outside and is quick to do her business and then goes exploring.

She gives the most gentle, sweet little kisses and follows simple commands such as “sit” and “no”.   She does great in her crate and never has accidents in the house.  So aside from being a little head strong, she’s anyone’s dream girl!  As mentioned above, Bunny has chronic dry eye and will require drops but she takes ‘em like a big girl.  Won’t you give Bunny the home she deserves?

Good with Dogs, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
