BIO:

Buster is an absolutely delightful 1 year old black & tan smooth coat. He was surrendered by an elderly person who could no longer care for him. The family that adopts this handsome young boy is going to be extremely lucky!

His foster dad says that he hasn’t noticed any sort of aggression at all. He has fit in with his foster home’s three mini dachshunds (all female and all quite “opinionated!”), and has gotten along very very well with another 1 year old male dachshund who frequently comes over and plays at Buster’s foster home. He LOVES to be around his people! You might say that he is a bit of a velcro dog, always following his foster dad around the house craving attention, but all in a good way.

Buster enjoys sleeping in the big bed, but when he has been crated at night, he whines just a bit but then sleeps through the night. While crated during the day he has had no accidents in his crate.

As far as potty training, he is a typical doxie and does very well so long as you keep him on a schedule and give him plenty of potty time outside.

Buster is a GREAT dog with a loving temperament and will make a wonderful addition to your family. All the love you show him he will return three-fold!!

If you have questions, feel free to contact Buster’s foster dad, Erich, at eezee416@gmail.com.

More about Buster #1....TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
