BIO: Must have fenced-in yard

Hi, I came from Alabama with my other brother and sisters. I am a Mauxie, a Dachshund/Maltese.  They call me a designer breed, whatever that means. Does that mean I’m sweet and wonderful and someone, or maybe everyone, will love me?  S ounds right to me!   I love to play with my siblings and the other two puppies that are here.   We all have so much fun especially when they let us out to run and play in the yard - we go crazy!   No one is safe!  If you are looking for an energetic puppy, then I think I can help you out.   Please give me another young dog or cat to play with, or better yet adopt me and my sister Whitney.   Oh gosh, what great fun we’d have!

From Zach’s foster mom: Zach is a lively one and loves to play.   He’s doing well with puppy pad training and is very friendly to all.   It’s important to keep him socialized with other dogs and small children if you are looking to have children down the road.   A fenced yard is a must for him and his brother and sisters.   Someone that is home a lot will also help so he can be potty trained using positive reinforcement and a schedule.   These little ones can’t go for 8 hours, only about 2-3 is the most for now.   Apply if you can meet these requirements and are at least 25 years old.

If you have questions or want more info, contact Zach’s foster mom, Diane, at aadrpresident@gmail.com.

More about Zach .....MD

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
