BIO:
Meet Lily and Duke, a beautiful, young bonded pair with their own unique personalities! Lily is an upbeat, playful and overall happy little girl while Duke is a more laid back fellow who is always very interested in anything going on in the kitchen. They are crated separately, but right next to each other when we go out, and at night, they sleep together in doggy beds. I am sure they would love to sleep in the big bed with their human as well! Lily and Duke do not eat really fast like a lot of Dachshunds do, they take their time chewing every bite. However, they do like to switch back and forth with their food bowls, which is a no-no since Duke is on metabolic food for his weight.
The two love to play together and Lily especially likes to play fetch. She will run as fast as she can through the yard to catch up to her brother who probably never left the patio. Duke is a lap dog and if you are not giving him the attention he thinks you should be, he will tug on your clothes or a blanket to get your attention. He loves to give lots of kisses and gets very excited about it. Lily never goes far from her brother and also likes to be close to her human, however, if it is a choice between her human and her brother, she will choose her brother.
These beautiful babies were not given up by choice; sadly, their owner passed away and the person who took them in did not properly care for them, so thankfully they were turned over to rescue. You would never guess they have had to endure such life changes by their personalities! They came to foster care and made themselves right at home and have gotten along very well with their foster siblings.
Look for updates as their personalities bloom! Though I would not expect them to be available for long! Whomever adopts these babies will have hit the jackpot! To fill out an application go to allamericandachshundrescue.org or to ask questions, contact Foster Mommy at decollinss@aol.com.
