BIO:   This sweet girl comes to AADR because she was a breeder dog and the puppy mill closed.  She is the sweetest snuggle bug!  Ruthie enjoys all aspects of being a family pet but, if you’re looking for an active dog, she’s not your girl!  She enjoys being with her people snuggling on the couch, her favorite pastime is swinging in the hammock with her foster mom and reading a good book.  Ruthie enjoys watching Family Feud and getting stomach rubs.  Please contact her foster family with any questions you might have about this sweet southern belle.

More about Ruthie ......SC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
