BIO:

Hi, I’m Sydney and I’m one of 5 babies that came in with our mom, a standard Dachshund, Lola. We were pulled in out of the cold and AADR said they’d take us to help us find homes that will love us forever and not let us live outside ever again.  Mom never told us who daddy was, he just never showed up again.  But mom took great care of us and now it’s time for us to find homes.  I love to play and I’m a pretty little girl, but I likely will be about 20-30 pounds 'cause mom is a standard Dachshund and we don’t know how big dad was.  I love to dig under covers!  Oh, and I have longer legs, and that helps reduce the chance of any back issues that dachshunds can have.

I do want a fenced yard and another young dog to play with so I won’t get bored and chew your shoes!  Kitty cats would be okay too, I just want someone to play with me.  Also, I need you to be home quite a bit to help me with house training.  I promise I’ll be as good a puppy as I can.

They told me I can go to my new home the middle of January when I’ve had my second set of shots.  So, please apply so I know I’ll have a forever home soon.  I love you already!!

More about Sydney.....TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
