BIO:

Hi, I’m the runt of the litter but DON’T call me that to my face ‘cause those are fightin’ words! I’m small but I got lots of dachsie attitude!  Mom, my siblings, and I were all out in the cold until a good person talked the owner into giving us up and then they got us into rescue. Boy am I glad!  I was sooo cold, but now I’m happy and my brothers and sisters and I get to play all day long.  And, I’m pretty cute if I do say so myself!

Mom is a standard dachshund and I don’t know what dad was, but I’ll probably only be about the size of my mom, my brothers and sisters will be a little bigger than me.

They told me that I can ask whomever adopts me for a fenced in yard, and another dog or a cat for me to play with, and someone that will help me with housebreaking, and I promise that I’ll be your best friend forever.

Everyone is going to think I’m the best so hurry and apply!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
