BIO:
Hi, my name is Chloe! My owner passed away and now I need a new family. I have four-legged foster brothers and a sister, but I don't really play with them. I am more of a loner, but love playing with stuffed toys and especially squeaky balls. Foster mommy always has me in a pretty dress and I don't mind dressing up at all. Foster mommy says I am a daddy's girl because when daddy comes home, all I want is his attention and to sit next to him. I go potty using a doggie door here at my foster home, but if you take me out often and sometimes go out with me, I will potty then too. I love going for rides in the car! I sleep in a crate at night, but would do great on the couch or in your bed, if you let me.
I really just want to be your little girl and play ball. Would you please love me and throw my ball? I am currently getting over a torn Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) in my knee and need to be careful jumping off things, so please help me off couches, or have stairs or a ramp next to the couch.
If you think I could be your best little friend, please contact my foster mom, Emily, at Clymer_ emily@ yahoo.com or go to the AADR website and complete an application. Looking forward to hearing from you!
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
