BIO:  Needs a fenced in yard!

Hi! My name is Mollie #3 and I am living with my foster family in AL, which is my home state.  I came from a place that was not so good – that’s why I’m a little too thin right now.  I have a great appetite though, and tend to be a little bit food aggressive, so I need to be fed separately from other pets in your home.  I probably need to gain about a pound or so, and my foster mom is working on that.

Everyone tells me that I’m the sweetest little girl ever, so it must be true! All I know is that I love to snuggle, give kisses, and get pets and rubs.  I tend to like women more than men, but I’m learning to love the man in my foster home.  I haven’t been tested with children, but since I’m so tiny and sweet, I would probably be fine in a home with older children who know how to treat a little girl gently.  I get along fine with the other girl dogs in my foster home, and would do great in a home with another younger dog who likes to play.  I like to chew on bones, and play with stuffed “babies”.

I need to be in a home with a fenced yard since I love to go outside and explore.  I go to the door and ask to go outside when I need to go potty.  I haven’t had any accidents in my foster home.  I have even used a puppy pad a couple of times.  I sleep in my crate at night, but would love sleeping in the big bed with you.

If you’re looking for a sweet little snuggle bug, then I’m your girl!

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Requires a yard

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
