BIO: Hi, my name is Madge!  I belonged to a lady from CA that had to come East to care for her mom.  She asked a good Samaritan to take care of me and Spike while she went back to CA and got settled.  Well you guessed it, she never came back for us.  The good Samaritan couldn’t hang unto us any longer so AADR was contacted to take us and find us another home.  We have been completely vetted and while Spike and I came in together, we don’t need to stay together.  We are fine apart, but I think I’d like another dachshund to keep me company.

I like to bark so an apartment would not be a good fit for me.  I’d like to have a fenced in yard too and if I could have my way, I’d like someone to be home with me most of the time.  I’m a sweet girl who just has been given a raw deal in the later part of my life, but you can make it all better.

Would you please consider giving me my last forever home?  I’m in excellent health and would not cause you any problems!  I just had a complete dental and only lost a few small teeth nothing major.

Please e-mail my foster mom for more info on me and please help me find that last home.  Hugs and kisses to my next furever mom or dad!!

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
