BIO:

Hi there, I’m Julie and I’m looking for my last forever home after my family dumped me and my buddy Clyde at a shelter in Middle Tennessee because they were expecting a baby. I guess I was not baby enough for them.  I don’t act 14 so I just can’t figure out what I did to deserve this.  I’m a great little dog and not even 10 pounds.!  Sure, sure, AADR is taking good care of me and my foster mom dotes on me, but it’s just not the same as having my very own home.

I get along with other dogs but don’t know about those kitty-cats, they are weird!

I would like a fenced-in yard because I like being outside in the sunshine and grass.  Since I had Clyde with me before, it would probably be best if I had another dog to keep me company in case you have to go off to work or go away for some time.

I am such a sweetheart, I actually have a heart on my tail!  Check out the pic below.  How cool is that!?!

I’m not asking for much... only a little of your time, a last forever home, and a nice bed to lie in.  Can you do that for me, please?

More about Julie in SC

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
