Update: Opie is still doing great with our pups...gets along with everyone, large or small. He likes to follow me around the house when I'm up doing laundry, etc. And when I sit down, he's either in my lap, someone else's lap or in his doggie bed on the floor in the living room. He's doing pretty well at night in the crate. (We crate most of our dogs at night.) He will occasionally bark in the crate and when there is commotion in the house, so I don't think he would be a good candidate for apartment or condo living. He really enjoys being around our other dogs, so I hope he goes to a home with another pup to pal around with!
Hi everyone, I'm Opie! Due to circumstances beyond my control, my previous owners decided they didn't want me anymore. They reached out to the sweet folks at AADR and they took me in. The rescue was kind of worried about my left eye and had the vet take a look at me when they did my initial check-up. It was determined that eye wasn't working and would probably be the cause of some painful problems in my future. So, they did the best thing for me...they removed it. I'm almost completely healed now and boy do I feel better! I don't even miss that old eye since it didn't work anyway!
I had packed on some weight before I came to AADR, so my foster mom is feeding me right and making sure I get enough exercise. And I have already dropped a few pounds!!! Here at my foster home, I have one furry big sister and 2 furry brothers. I'm getting along with everyone, big or small!!!
I'm crate-trained, but I would much rather be in the house with my foster family. I am happiest when I'm in someone's lap and they are giving me all their attention! Although I love it here with my foster family, I would really love to have a forever home soon. I would love to have a furry brother or sister or two to pal around with, a nice fenced area to run around in, and when I'm done playing, I would love to have a nice lap to snuggle up in and nap!
Please contact foster mom and she will give you the latest scoop! I’ll be waiting!!
