BIO:  Radar was found in western Tennessee wandering - no tags, no chip.  An attempt was made to find the owner but none was found, so rescue was contacted to see if we’d take him.

Radar definitely needs a few groceries but he’s going to be one of those long, lean low riders.  He’s happy, friendly and likes to play with the other dogs.

We don’t think he’d be good around cats, birds, or squirrels.  A fenced yard is a must for this little boy because he loves to be outside exploring the world around him so off leash he’d be a goner.  That may be what got Radar lost in the first place.

Looking for a playmate for your young dog?  Well, this guy aims to please!

Radar has been fed people food so we are working with him on that.  No people food for dogs... it’s not good for them, not even a little.

This little guy needs a home, do you need a friend??

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
