BIO:

Hello, I’m Halo… a sweet, gentle, older gal.  My foster mom said I’m doing great with all the dachshunds and cats here.  I love to ride, love walks on my leash, and definitely love to snuggle on the couch with everyone.  I get along well with other dogs after meeting them.  I am house trained and crated trained but don’t care for the crate much.

I would love to play with my toys with you and would really love a fenced yard so I could just go out to potty.  I have gained some weight at my foster mom’s but could still gain a few more pounds.

If you think I might be the girl for you, fill out that application.  Hope to hear from you soon!  Love, Halo

Look at this sweet little girl!  Please consider Halo for your new addition and she will give you lots of doggie kisses and love.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
