BIO: Morpheus came in with his brother from a family here in Tennessee that had them since they were puppies. The daughter was going off to college and the family already had dogs so they could not keep them.
When they came into rescue, we noticed that Morpheus and his brother would argue with each other so we felt it was best to separate them and it’s worked out well. They are both happy where they are now.
Morpheus LOVES a fenced yard where he can run and play and we will require one for him. He would love another younger dog to play with but he also loves cuddle time with his people. He doesn’t need to sit on your lap but he sure does like to be on a blanket next to you on the couch.
Morpheus is what we call “backyard bred”... his legs are longer than the AKC standards but he’s still all dachshund. He would love it if his new owner was a stay at home mom or dad or worked from home. He is fine in a crate but these are not his finest hours. He will whine a little at the bedroom door at night and want into the bedroom with his foster mom, but after a very few minutes he settles down on the couch for the night. Morpheus is not a big barker but will alert you to a car in the drive or someone at the door.
This boy is beautiful and deserves the best of homes so don’t wait to apply! Do it now before he’s spoken for! He’ll be ready for his new home around the 15th of June.
