BIO: This dream boat of a boy is simply a joy! He is a very happy and friendly fellow who has a blast playing with his Foster Brother! It is not often you will see him without his tail wagging. Murphy loves his bed and blanket and will drag it around the house to wherever he deems it necessary at the time. At night he will bring it to the bedroom and sleep peacefully next to your bed all night. I bet he would love to sleep with you if you would let him!
Before coming to the rescue, AADR was told he had accidents on the floor. Once taken to the vet, they found he had crystals in his urine. They fixed him up with medication (now finished) and special I.D. food, and he has been great since. He will need to be on this special diet for the rest of his life. Murphy loves using the doggy door to the fenced back yard, but he will also go out with a leash on a schedule like a champ.
If you are interested in this guy, don’t hesitate to contact his Foster Family at Decollinss@aol.com! We’d be happy to answer any questions!

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
