BIO (12/4/2018):  Hello, let me introduce myself, I’m Bruno Mars!  Like my namesake, I’m a great guy with an awesome voice and you’ll hear my awesome voice if you try to take a walk without taking me along!  My foster mom says I am an awesome hound!!  How ‘bout that!?!

My owner passed away and I found myself at a noisy place with lots of dogs, it was scary.  I didn’t stay there long, someone scooped me up and brought me to AADR, what a relief!  I like staying with my foster family, they have other furkids like me and they talk sweet to me. 

I like people and other dachshunds!  I like lap-sitting, going on walks, and food.  But what I really like is playing ball!  Check out the video of me playing ball.  I will play by myself if I have to but it’s more fun for someone to throw it for me!  Will you give me a forever home and play ball with me?

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
