BIO (7/11/2019):

  • Perfect Lap Dog!
  • Kennel Trained!
  • Sweet and Loving!
  • Princess!

Molly came from middle Alabama with five other Dachshunds when a breeder could no longer care for them.

Molly is very sweet!  She is a shy little girl that just wants to be loved.  She will be perfect for someone looking for a lap dog.  She loves to be in your lap and cuddle!  She could be an only dog if you are home a lot with her.  Molly does fine in the kennel, but would rather have free roam of the house.  She does not chew anything.  She would be a great pal to another dog as long at that dog is not too high energy.  Molly is a princess and loves to nap.  She is doing great using the doggie door, but still needs a little more work.  She doesn’t like going outside by herself.  She would rather be right next to her human.

The little princess continues to work on leash training…I don’t think it is a matter of the leash, but that she is shy and would rather be held.  When we took all the dogs for a walk, she really didn’t want to walk so I put her in the stroller for my elderly dog.  She loved it!  I will keep everyone updated on her progress.

We are hoping to find someone that will love Molly and treat her like the princess that she is.  She deserves to be spoiled.  Molly will love you back unconditionally!

If you are home a lot or have a pal around her age, please apply.  Please email us with any questions.

More about Molly in LA

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Cratetrained, Likes to be in your lap

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
