BEING FOSTERED IN MIDDLE TN...........
BRODIE from Northern AL where he was found as a stray. He is just the sweetest sweet boy for an older gentleman. He gets along with everyone here and follows his foster mommy everywhere. He did lose quite a few teeth due to poor nutition so he'll have to be fed softned food. Brodie is great with other dogs, cats and kids. He will chase cats outside but not inside, go figure!!
He is so adorable. One thing he does is grumble: When he cuddles up to you on the couch or bed, he sort of mutters himself to sleep. And in the bed,
he loves to sleep on his back with his head on your shoulder and clutch your hand with his paws.
He is housebroken and crate trained. If you want the perfect older gentleman this is the guy. Don't mind that he has to be fed softened food he makes up that in other areas by wanting to cuddle and be your pal.
Please give this boy a forever home cause he sure deserves it.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
