Owner surrenders due to divorce, one didn't want the dogs and the other travels too much. These two have been together since puppies so they need to stay together they are very bonded and very sweet. Right now they are a little bewildered why they aren't in their own home but they will adjust within a couple of days. They are housebroken very well. They need to go to someone that is home and can help get the weight off of them as they do need to lose some weight. Buddy is the bigger one and had back surgery but recovered 100% from that, that's why it's important to get the extra weight off of him.
They are both very loving and will UTD on their shots and a dental this week they are already and have been on Heartworm prevention. They will be going to the groomers to get a nice bath and get some of that hair off them to make it more comfortable for them. They really are very sweet and need a wonderful home that wants to get and give lots of love. They will be fine with older kids and other dogs, don't know about cats. If you are interested in making Buddy and Bailee your next members of your family please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online application and be sure to put their names on the app.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost off to the adopter. It is only $10.00 each. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
