Buddy is his name and finding a LOVING home is his game!! He was owner surrendered. When he first got here he would cringe when you'd go to touch him or pick him up but he's not that way now after time in his foster home. He will need more work on housetraining as this was the issue that the previous owner said she was having trouble with him for but he is doggie door trained. He gets along with kids, older kids, and don't know about cats. Other dogs are fine and he loves to play with toys of any kind. He needs a home where he'll get positive reinforcement to learn pottying habits not negative. Please find it in your heart to give this boy a loving home. He is very sweet, loves to ride in a car and is fine in a crate. He is UTD on all shots on Interceptor and Frontline. If you are interested in making Buddy your buddy please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application. Remember home visit are required and out of state and country adoptions are welcome.
More about BUDDY...TN
Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
