BUFORD IS BEING FOSTERED IN LA BUT HIS CONTACT IS DIANE IN TN. OTHER FOSTER MOM IS MOVING......
Buford is a gorgeous young standard doxie boy with the sweetest personality EVER. He is about 2 years old and weighs about 20 pounds. He is crate trained and gets along very well with other dogs. He can be a bit protective of his food and chewies, so I feed him seperately from the rest of the gang and he is just fine.
Buford was apparently dropped off in front of my house. He is in great shape and is neutered. He is very healthy and SO loving!
Buford uses a doggie door like a pro and he is such a ham! As soon as he sees a camera in your hand, he poses. He is always ready to give and receive affection. Buford seems to be mostly housebroken, but as with all dachshunds, expect accidents. He is crate trained and is baby-gated when I'm not home.
Buford has been exposed to children and seems ok with them, but a home with older children (over 10) would be best.
Buford is ready for his new home! Is that with you??
Please fill out an application if you are interested in this sweet boy!
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
