NAME.............................DUDLEY DACHSHUND..............TWEENIE/PURE COAT..............................LONG HAIRED COLOR..........................BLACK AND TAN AGE................................10 YRS GENDER.......................MALE/NEUTERED WEIGHT.........................14 LBS ADOPTION FEE............135.00+10.00 chip fee contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net BEING FOSTERED IN TN DUDLEY LIKES TO PLAY NOW AND THEN....HE DOESN'T ACT HIS AGE AND HE'S LOOKING FOR THAT FOREVER HOME THAT HE THOUGHT HE HAD AND THEN THEY LET HIM DOWN....PLEASE DON'T LET HIM DOWN AGAIN!! DUDLEY was abandoned by his owners, they moved away and just left him. A neighbor took him in thinking they would come back to get him but after a month he took him to the shelter. He is very low key, gets along with all fosters and is just a sweet guy that wants a forever home for the rest of his life. He just can't understand why his family didn't come back to get him. He's fine with kids and cats as well and rides great in a car. Walks well on a leash. He is housebroken and uses the doggie door to go outside and likes to be outside too. So would like a fenced in yard for him. If you are interested in giving sweet little DUDLEY his last forever loving home please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and be sure to put his name on the app. Please keep in mind our dogs are not outside dogs that live out there only to potty and play and then back in.....most need a fenced in yard and must never be taken off leash as they will be gone. They are hunters and their nose will be to the ground and you may not ever see them again. Also keep in mind these little guys can live to be 17-19 yrs old if in good health so just because this boy is 10 don't think he won't be around for a while..... Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
