About Haley...NC

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi! My name is Haley and I am a mini double dapple girl. I am 4-5 years old and a real handful! Because I'm double dapple, I am blind, but that does not stop me at all! I ADORE playing with my toys, and love going for walks on leash. I also love going for car rides. My toys are the biggest part of my life, though, and I protect them with all my might! I would never bite, but I do growl at other dogs if they get too close to my toys. I love children but need to go to a home with older children so I don't get stepped on. I'm only about 8 pounds. I am very healthy and happy and ready for my new home! I need a fenced yard with only one other non-alpha dog. I am spayed, current on vaccinations, heart worm negative, crate trained and can use a doggie door. I still have accidents in the house, though, if I'm not taken out regularly. Are you the perfect home for me?? Out of state and Canidian adoptions are welcome, we have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible. A home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
