NAME......................................J.J. DACHSHUND.......................Mix /MINI COAT......................................SMOOTH COLOR...................................RED AGE.........................................2-3 YRS GENDER................................MALE/NEUTERED WEIGHT..................................8 LBS contact nashcat50us@yahoo.com ADOPTION FEE.....................125.00+10.00 chip fee JJ WOULD DO BEST AS AN ONLY DOG AS HE WANTS ALL THE ATTENTION....WOULD BE GREAT FOR A RETIRED PERSON OR SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE TIME!! BEING FOSTERED NEAR NASHVILLE, TN NO CHILDREN/ JJ is a fear biter but if you give him room and time he will warm up to you. J.J. also came from the same shelter as HANS but at different times. J.J. isn't as happy go lucky as HANS, he was left out in the yard by a man that his only pertection from the weather was a plastic crate. You can tell that JJ was not socialized and possibly abused. When he came to us he would not make up to either my husband or I and would try to growl and snap at us when we'd go to put our hands down to touch him. He made up to my husband first within 2 days and he took longer with me at 5 days but the wait was well worth it. He's a sweet sweet boy that loves to sleep up by your head in the big bed and will lay there all night long and not more or say a word. I'm sure JJ thinks he's gone to heaven compared to how he lived before. He is potty trained to the doggie door and loves to run inside and out and gets along with all the fosters here. I would say NO CATS AND NO CHILDREN. JJ would be better going to a single person or an older couple that has the time and patience to wait for him to come to you. If you do the reward is well worth the wait. JJ is UTD on all shots on Interceptor and Frontline and also had a dental. If you are interested in adopting JJ or want more info on him please e mail his foster mom listed above and I'll be happy to answer whatever questions you have. If you want to adopt JJ then please go to our website www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app and be sure to put his name on the app, Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost off to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

=============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI, NH, ME or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
