NAME.....................................JACIE DACHSHUND......................PURE/MINI COAT.....................................SMOOTH COLOR..................................BLACK & TAN AGE........................................2 1/2 YRS WEIGHT.................................8 LBS contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net adoption fee ........................250.00+10.00 chip fee Jacie was surrender to a shelter because they wanted a bigger dog! This girl is very very sweet and just wants to be everywhere you are. She is fine with older children and other dogs don't know about cats. She is UTD on all shots, heartworm neg. and on Interceptor and Frontline. She apears to be fine with a doggie door but the people said she wasn't housebroken but if you take her out or allow her to go out by way of doggie door she is fine. She gets along fine with the other dogs but really would rather be with her human family than other dogs. If you are interested in her and would like her to become a member of your family please go online to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and make sure you put her name on it. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. Home visit is required and out of state adoptions are welcome.

Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
