DACHSHUND..........................PURE/STANDARD COAT.........................................LONG HAIR COLOR.....................................BLACK OVERLAY AGE...........................................8 YRS WEIGHT....................................23 LBS CONTACT kdcurts33122@YAHOO.COM ADOPTION FEE .....................200.00 PLUS 10.00 CHIP FEE Kadie is an 8 year old long haired dachshund in need of a loving home. Kadie is great with all people, including children and cats, but needs to be either an only dog or the only female. She is partially house trained and gives signals that she needs to go such as waiting at the door or being restless but will have accidents if you dont pay attention. Kadie loves taking walks on the leash, car rides and will sit for hours if you rub her belly. She even "begs" for more rubs if you quit. Kadie is great in the house but loves her outside play time but be sure she is on a leash or in a fenced in yard or she will dart off looking for excitement. Kadie is up to date on all of her vaccination including ProHeart, has been spayed and is in good health. If you are interested in adopting Kadie please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online application and put her name on it as the one you are interested in. We will be in touch with you shortly after that and a home visit is required and out of state adoptions are welcome..............

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
