These two came in from Eastern TN and we even marked as mixes but there is nothing mix about these two. When they came in they both had some demodextic mange but it is clearing up now with a stable home life and good food and love. They know how to use the doggie door and will go outside and potty. They may need further work if you do not have a doggie door but we do feel they would do best with a fenced in yard. We are sure they were used as breeder dogs but now they are free from that and just love to give kisses and to be held. They have been Spayed, checked for heartworms and on Interceptor and Frontline and are UTD on all shots. They are just waiting for there new forever home and they promise to give you a thousand kisses each day. They would love it if you'd stay home with them but will be waiting when you get home from a hard days work. We don't suggest very small children but think they would be fine with kids 10+. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
