This girl came to me wagging her tail and is very very friendly and loves to be loved on and cuddled and will just eat it up. MOONIE MAE is not like some breeder dogs that are not socialized but is very friendly and outgoing....for that reason we think she'd be great with kids and other dogs but maybe not cats. She even likes to play a little with the other fosters and will sleep in the big bed with you and knows how to use the doggie door to do her business and come back in again to sleep the day away either in your lap or the many doggie beds that we have. She gets along with all the many male and female fosters we have here and is not a barker. If you are interested in MOONIE MAE please consider giving her a wonderful home for the rest of her life and let her give you all the kisses she's been saving up. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
