MR. WIGGLES NEEDS TO GO TO AN EXPERIENCED DACHSHUND OWNER AS HE HAS A PROBLEM BEING VERY OVER PROTECTIVE OF HIS FAMILY. WE ALSO THINK HE'D DO BEST WITH ANOTHER DACHSHUND SO HE KNOWS THE CHAIN OF COMMAND.......
Mr. Wiggles was an owner turn in to a shelter then I got him from the shelter. He is very very sweet. Loves to sleep in the big bed and just be as near to you as he can get. It appears that he has been in some fights with dogs or cats we are not sure as he has scars on his muzzle. He also gets along with other dogs, male and female but not sure about cats so I'd say no since I don't know where those scars came from. He does fine with housetraining, could have an accident or two but not bad but I also have a doggie door.. Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
