About O'MALLEY.......NY

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
Name………........O'Malley Dachshund……..Wire hair mix Coat………...........Smooth Date of birth………….Nov 28, 2006 Sex………………….Male Weight………….....2 lbs Adoption fee…………$150.00 + $50.00 neuter deposit + $10.00 micro chip fee Contact………….braden01@bellsouth.net O'Malley was surrendered with his mother, brother, and sisters to a TN shelter. They were surrendered because the owner could no longer afford to feed them. Their mom is a pure wire hair dachshund that will be posted on the website soon. We are not sure what they are mixed with, but we do know they are awful cute!! O'malley is a real charmer! He favors mom and will probably look like a true wire hair. He is fairly calm for a puppy and is on his way to learning house manners. The foster home they are in now has kids, cats, and other dogs so we think they will be fine in a home with all of the above. Of course we ask if you have a youngster and you are interested in adopting that they are supervised at all time with the puppy. The puppies have had their first set of shots and wormed. They will have their other puppy shots when it is time for them and have a micro chip inserted before going to their forever home. The adoptive family will have to sign a spay/neuter agreement & pay a $50 refundable deposit when adopting a puppy. This states that when the puppy you have adopted is the appropriate age that you will have them altered. Once you have them altered and send proof back to SSDR we will refund your deposit. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
