NAME..........................................OSCAR3 DACHSHUND...........................PURE/TWEENIE COAT..........................................WIRE COLOR......................................BLACK & TAN AGE............................................1YR GENDER..................................MALE/NUETERED WEIGHT....................................11 LBS ADOPTION FEE.......................250.00+10.00 chip fee contact nashcat50us@yahoo.com Not much is known about OSCAR3, just that he came from Huntsville, AL. We don't know if he was a stray or owner turn in. We can't imagine why anyone would turn this sweet boy in. He loves to give kisses and be held and cuddled and he does try to get along with all dogs and we think he'd be fine with cats and kids. He's pretty laid back. He does use the doggie door so we aren't sure if he'd more work with house training or not. He does love to run in and out the doggie door checking up on things. If you are interested in making this sweet boy a part of your family please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an adoption application and be sure to put his name on the app. We will be in touch shortly. THIS BOY IS TOO TOO CUTE TO MISS OUT ON!! Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome and a home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
