OSCAR-4 was surrendered to us by his owner cause the two little girls would not stop terrorizing him. For that reason NO KIDS, this poor boy has been thru enough and deserves peace. He is very submissive, has no issues, loves his foster daddy and mom is ok but he perfers his daddy. He does fine with other dogs and we think cats but NO CHILDREN MAYBE 16+. He is housebroken and uses the doggie door and no accidents in the house. He doesn't really need a fenced in yard but you do need to keep in on a leash at all times and he'd need to be walked. He's very thin and needs to add just a little weight. This boy is very sweet and deserves the best. If you want to make OSCAR-4 your new little boy please go on line to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online app and pleae if you have kids don't ask we will not adopt to anyone having kids at home......grandkids would have to visit very little. This would only stress this poor little boy out and he's had enough of that.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog plesae go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle.
More about OSCAR4......AL
Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
