PRINCE2 IS BEING FOSTERED IN LA
Hi! My name is Prince and my foster mom says I am a very handsome boy and a charmer (this I knew already). I am a silver dapple and I am three years old. I came to live here with my foster mom because my first home just didn't have time for me. Also, my first mom would get really mad at me if I marked in the house. I don't know what all the hub-bub was about as I thought I was supposed to let everyone know that that was my castle. Well, anyway, Foster Mom has been trying to explain it to me and I am starting to get the hang of it. Also, I have been neutered now and she thinks that will help too. I get along great with the girl doxies here but I don't like competition from other boys. So, Foster Mom thinks it would be a good idea if I went to a home where I was the only doxie or maybe with just one girl doxie. I also like big girl dogs too - my best friend here at my foster home is a golden retriever. Mom thinks that neutering will also make me a little more tolerant of other guys. I am up to date on all my shots, am CKC registered, have been neutered, am heartworm negative, sleep in a crate at night, and I am working on my "marking issues", but will still need close supervision. There are no cats or kids here and Foster Mom thinks that I would be fine with older kids but thinks I might not like cats. Foster Mom says I am a "Prince Charming". If you are tired of frogs and need a Prince in your life, please think about me.
Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome, we have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible. A home visit is required. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interested in a rescue. More about PRINCE2...TN
Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
